SolidWorks Drawing Template Download Pack technical assembly drawing displayed on an industrial workbench.

Setting up to do most things takes longer than normally expect, I found this to especially true with professional product development is because  o much time is lost setting up the systems around it.

SolidWorks templates are a good example. A professional setup requires more than dropping a logo into a title block. Part, assembly and drawing templates need to be configured with the right document settings, custom properties, units, notes, revision information and drawing standards. None of this work is particularly valuable to repeat, but it still has to be done before the real project work can begin.

When I refined my own SolidWorks setup, I found very little premade content that went beyond basic, surface-level downloads. Most available templates still required substantial reworking before they were practical for day-to-day product development.

Made Evident Tools aims to shortcut this process for anyone starting out.

The aim is simple: provide designers and engineers with practical, ready-to-use resources that reduce setup time, remove repetitive administration and help them become productive faster.

The first release is a downloadable SolidWorks template pack covering part, assembly and drawing files. It is designed for freelance designers, engineers and small studios that want a professional starting point without spending hours building and troubleshooting their own template system.

The templates are informed by my experience working across a wide range of physical-product development projects. They are structured to work across different types of jobs, rather than being overly specific to one product or industry. Just as importantly, they avoid adding unnecessary administration. The goal is not to create more fields, forms and process for the sake of it, but to provide enough structure to support clear documentation, reliable handover and manufacturing-ready output.

Made Evident Tools will grow according to demand. Future releases may include bill of materials templates, RFQ packs, project briefs and other practical resources used throughout the product development process.

Each tool will follow the same principle: reduce the time spent setting up work, so designers and engineers can spend more time actually moving projects forward.
