Making a Stand.

This project was born from the idea of giving customers a hands-on experience with the making process. The product line features sleek, minimalistic metal stands for headphones and gaming controllers, shipped flat-packed. The unique twist? Customers fold the metal by hand, following a simple step-by-step assembly process. The goal was to create a product that felt both interactive and rewarding, making it a perfect gift for the “hard-to-buy-for” gamers and digital professionals in our lives.

As a personal side venture, sparked by an experiment in hand-folding metal. I developed the concept, refined the design through CAD modeling and laser-cut prototypes, and worked closely with both local and international manufacturers to ensure the perfect balance of material strength and flexibility. One key challenge was testing how easily the metal could be folded by hand, a rare feature for consumer products. After multiple iterations, I fine-tuned the tolerances and material selection to make the process intuitive and satisfying for customers. The business is now steadily growing and receiving great feedback.
